A: Are you really moving to New Jersey next year?
B: I am. It’s one of the best states to study diagnostic medical sonography. Why do you ask?
A: We were talking about sonography in class and I was curious why you would choose to study in a different state.
B: That’s because not all sonographers earn the same thing here in the United States. There are places where sonographers earn more, New Jersey being one of them. It’s a state with high employment levels as well, so I won’t have a difficult time finding a job after I graduate.
A: Are there a lot of schools in New Jersey that have sonography programs?
B: Because of the high volume of students that head to the state each year, there are several accredited ultrasound programs in New Jersey that have diagnostic medical sonography training. As of 2016, there were eight CAAHEP-accredited programs and one ARRT-recognized program. I’m taking my time researching each one before I apply.
A: That’s cool. Where are you doing your research? I also have an assignment on sonography that’s due in a few days.
