3D sonography is an innovative update to diagnostic medical sonography. Be updated with ultrasound technician updates at http://ultrasoundtechniciancenter.org/.
A: Hey Jane!
B: Hello James.
A: Did you read the assigned work Ms. Parks gave us yesterday?
B: Yeah I did. 3D sonography is going to be an interesting part of our ultrasound technician clinical experience.
A: It was an interesting read but I was a little confused about just how useful it would be compared to regular 2D imaging.
B: Well, when something is three-dimensional, it’s easier to assess the different aspects of say, an organ or an abnormal growth.
A: So it would be easier to see if there was a problem with it structurally?
B: That’s right! And when you get the gist of a visible, structural problem, it would be easier to figure out how it affects functionality.
A: Wow, that makes sense. It would also save money because repeat 2D images wouldn’t need to be taken anymore. Just one 3D image would do.
B: Yes. I know our school has a new 3D capable ultrasound machine and that’s why the curriculum has included it this semester.
A: How come you know so much about this?
B: I visit this website called ultrasoundtechniciancenter.org. They post a lot of articles on sonography updates as well as diagnostic medical sonography training programs.
A: Cool. I’m heading over to the library for lunch. I’ll go check it out.
B: Bye!
