In 2014, the University of South Carolina was awarded a professional advancement grant from the South Carolina Commission on College and the U.S. Department of Education under the auspices of the Improving Instructor Quality Higher Education Grant Program.
The 2 year task was led by the USC College of Education with collaborations in the USC College of Arts and Science and the USC School of Medicine Ultrasound Institute.
Twenty middle and high school science teachers participated in the task to broaden their understanding in locations such as genes and to establish ingenious methods to teaching life sciences.
