A number of the typical interest in giving blood– unsteady needles, evasive veins– may be reduced in the near future, thanks to the latest robotic and imaging technologies.
VascuLogic, a start-up supported by the NSF Small Business Development Research study program, is giving market a device that aims to make the blood collection procedure more secure and more effective.
The innovation utilizes infrared and ultrasound imaging to identify veins. A robotically controlled needle is then guided into the targeted vein. The entire system is designed to benefit clients and phlebotomists alike.
