Working as a sonographer in Canada is an amazing opportunity available to sonographers in the US. Find out how you can apply for a sonographer job in Canada at http://www.ultrasoundtechniciancenter.org/jobs-and-careers/international.html
A: Hey mom?
B: Yes, Tess?
A: Was it hard for dad to apply to work in Canada?
B: There were a lot requirements he had to apply for first, but afterwards, everything was pretty smooth sailing.
A: Why is that?
B: Well, there are certain countries that are experiencing a shortage in sonography workers — Canada is one of them. This made applying for a work visa and a job easier than applying for one in a different country.
A: What did dad need to prepare for?
B: The first requirement was to complete an accredited sonography program — which your dad had already done. He finished a bachelor degree for general sonography from the University of California in San Diego. Afterwards, he had to complete an assessment test on Canada’s immigration website. Since your dad wanted a job in British Columbia, he had to pass a national certification exam — the CARDUP National Certification Examination as well.
A: I understand. That was a lot of work!
B: It was, but it was well worth it. Salary is great and he has great job opportunities there. If you want to read more about it, visit ultrasoundtechniciancenter.org.
A: Thanks, mom!
