Imaging Technician

Position Highlights:

  • To carry out tests, repair work, calibrations, evaluations and preventive upkeep checks on Imaging related equipment utilized in medical diagnosis or therapy, using technical understanding of electro-radiological and mechanical systems, and user knowledge of computers. With accreditation and training in numerous or high-end imaging modalities, comprehends the international impact to organisation and customers of imaging decisions.

Qualifications and Qualifications:

  • Partner’s degree — Biomedical devices technology training or basic training degree.
  • OR – High School Diploma with an additional 3 (3) years of relevant Electronic Technician experience plus the 7 (7) years (for a total of 10 years) experience might be considered “in lieu” of a Partner’s degree.
  • Minimum of 7 (7) years experience in biomedical equipment repair and maintenance in research laboratory, hospital and/or healthcare facility is required.
  • Knowledge of electronic theory and skills in testing electronic equipment.
  • Knowledge of the operation of numerous or High-end Imaging equipment consisting of however not restricted to Radiographic, Radiographic/ Fluoroscopic, Mammography, Nuclear Medicine, Linear Accelerator, Pet-CT, CT, MRI, and Ultrasound.
  • Repair, install, maintain, adjust, and check medical imaging equipment and instrumentation.
  • Extensive understanding of electronic circuitry and technical aspects of the operation, repair work and upkeep of electronic devices.
  • Understanding of networking theory.
  • Knowledge of radiologic theory and innovation including PACS, DICOM, and so on
  • Understanding of security preventative measures when servicing high voltages and working with ionizing radiation.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of current regulatory requirements.
  • Understanding of fundamental anatomy, physiology and medical terms.
  • Ability to examine, fix and test electronic and electromechanical equipment.
  • Capability to translate schematics, wiring diagrams, and illustrated parts illustrations of biomedical instrumentation
  • Ability to work individually with very little guidance.
  • Good communication and strong customer care abilities.
  • Great organization and time management skills.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Biomedical equipment innovation or basic training degree.
  • CRES certification
