B: Hi Jamie.
A: Is your sister doing well in New York? Your mom told mine about Jennifer becoming a sonographer there.
B: She’s doing great. The salary is amazing and she had great job opportunities there. New York is one of the states with the highest level of employment in the US.
A: Wow! Are you planning in ultrasound tech training as well?
B: I am! It’s a good thing my sister has an apartment in New York now, I won’t have to worry when I apply to schools in that area!
A: That’s right! Finding an apartment is pretty difficult in that city. Are there plenty of sonography schools in New York?
B: Currently, there are eight schools that have CAAHEP-accredited programs. I’m thinking of applying to Long Island University’s bachelor degree program in cardiac sonography. Are you interested in sonography as well?
A: You got me. Any tips?
B: Get a feel of what your concentration will be. You can try reading a few articles on ultrasoundtechniciancenter.org. It was pretty helpful for Jen and I when we were deciding on college options.
