Innovation and Health: Man and His World, A SALUTIS UNITAS Contribution to an International Conference on Medical Informatics, Riva del Garda, Italy, April 21-- 25, 1978
SALUTIS UNITAS, Unity for Health, an organization ‘Uniting doctors of the world to cultivate much better health for all people through international exchange of technological info’, was officially founded in 1972 after preceding years of preparation. Among its main goals is the scientific interaction, be it by conference or by publications. Several clinical conferences might be held, mainly together with other scientific companies, and resulted in the publication of the respective proceedinqs 1. Studies were commissioned 2 to investigate trends in health care shipment and their socio-economic effects, which likewise supplied the basis for further investigations 3. Also in 1978 a global congress was organized by SALUTIS UNITAS and sponsored by the worldwide Menarini Structure under its directorship of Dr. Gorini. This volume is based upon the contributions of SALUTIS UNITAS mewbers of this meeting ‘Male and his World, Innovation and Health’, supplemented by more studies and materials. The primary goal was to look at various receivers of healthcare shipment: the person, the community, the area and the nation. Emphasis was placed on systems analysis, simulation techniques and assessment. According to the composition of the SALUTIS UNITAS membership, conceptual and interdisciplinary elements prevail over descriptions of in-depth approach, hence supplying a broad access to the issues investigated.
