Task Summary
Performs obstetrical and gynecological diagnostic ultrasound treatments under the supervision of a physician.
Essential Functions
- Reviews physician requisition orders and guidelines concerning patient preparation for ultrasound procedure.
- Interacts to OB/GYN nursing group status of patient condition pre and post treatment.
- Carries out ultrasound imaging for fetal diagnosis and anomaly detection for clients with high danger indications.
- Carries out ultrasound assistance for gynecological sonography consisting of doppler and obstetrical studies.
- Carries out ultrasound research studies for medical diagnosis including however not restricted to assessment of fetal growth, advancement and age, examination of fetal anomalies and irregular AFP screening.
- Files procedure carried out on client medical record.
- Assists with administrative responsibilities as asked for.
Physical Requirements
Requires standing, stretching, flexing, pulling and pressing clients, products and moving ultrasound maker. Need to have the ability to comprehend necessary transducers to use for sonography. Digital dexterity to get in data on ultrasound keyboard is required. Ability to operate in a fast-paced setting and ability to manage stressful scenarios with compassion and professionalism is a must. Should speak English with complete confidence. Direct exposure to communicable diseases.
Education, Experience and Accreditations
Current license Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer required with a specialized in OB-GYN. 3 years experience in OB-GYN needed. Proficiency in Nuchal Translucency and Nasal Bone Imaging might be required based upon department. If Nuchal Clarity and Nasal Bone Imaging is not required by department, greater than 5 years of experience required. Registered in Nuchal Clarity and Nasal Bone Imaging needed within one year.
