The echocardiogram treatment is a safe and pain-free diagnostic test that uses high-frequency sound waves called ultrasound to capture moving pictures of the heart. It is typically called heart ultrasound or an echo. Soundwaves are directed at the heart from a little portable transducer which is put on your chest utilizing gel to enhance soundwave transmission. The images are normally in black and white but color can be contributed to map the speed and slow instructions of the blood moving in the note of the chambers through the valves. Lots of measurements are taking throughout the echocardiogram procedure to evaluate how well your heart is working. We have the ability to see the heart valves, the heart chambers and measure their size. The function of the heart can be evaluated and pressures within each chamber can be determined by echo. 4 dimensional echo devices which we have actually had in my laboratory for several years enables us to see the heart the method it should instead of two-dimensional pieces of the heart. The echocardiogram procedure takes 45 minutes usually from start to finish. Ultrasound can not be felt and does not harmed. There is no radiation. In this video Dr. Moran will take you through each action of the heart ultrasound discussing as we go showing examples of the images and measurements that we do.
