The Surgical Tech works under the supervision of the surgeon and Registered Nurse. Assists surgical team throughout operative procedures by organizing and inventorying sterile set-up of instruments, equipment and supplies for surgical cases and passing items to surgeons and nurses as required. Assists in preparing and moving patients and sterilizing and cleaning instruments, equipment and rooms.
WHAT YOU BRING/JOB REQUIREMENTS
In addition to bringing your entire self to the workplace each day, certified candidates will require the following:
- Standard Computer abilities needed.
- One year of experience in a surgical setting chosen.
- Experience in a specialized field chosen.
- HS Diploma/GED required
- Conclusion of an authorized Surgical Service technician program needed
- BLS from the American Heart Association required
- Existing registration with the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) as a surgical technologist for associates operating in Colorado. An individual carrying out Surgical Tech operates within the scope of another Colorado license, certification, or registration does not require to sign up as a Surgical Tech needed
- Accreditation in Surgical Technology from the National Board Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or Accreditation as a Tech in Surgical Treatment (CST) from the National Center for Proficiency Screening (NCCT) required
Physical Requirements-Medium Work – (Put In approximately 50 pounds force periodically, and/or as much as 20 lbs frequently, and/or approximately 10 pounds constantly)
