B: Hello Martin. How are you and the kids?
A: We’re doing fine. My eldest is just about to head off to college.
B: Wow! That’s right – Tina’s the same age as my Rocky, right?
A: Yes. He’s just a few months older. Is he going to college in the next semester too?
B: He actually graduated a year early since he took some advanced classes in high school. He managed to start college a semester early.
A: That sounds great! Tina’s thinking of going to Rush University in Chicago to study sonography, since it’s just in our state of Illinois.
B: What a coincidence! Rocky’s taking up sonography in Rush University too.
A: I haven’t really managed to talk to her about what she’s taking; what programs in sonography are offered by Rush University?
B: It only offers on program on sonography – a bachelor degree program in Vascular Sonography. As you know, bachelor degrees take four years to complete. Other schools offer associate degree programs that take 2 years to complete and certificate programs. That’s most likely the same program that Tina will be enrolling in.
A: I see. I researched a little bit about sonography in Illinois, and there are seven schools that offer ultrasound programs in Chicago. Two schools are in Chicago, and the rest can be found in Glen Ellyn, Palatine, Carterville, Carbondale, and River Grove.
B: I didn’t know that! Where did you find all this out?
A: On ultrasoundtechniciancenter.org. It’s a wonderful website with lots of information on diagnostic medical sonography.
