The National Occupational Analysis (NOA) has the following objectives: to describe and group the tasks carried out by experienced employees; to determine which jobs are performed in every province and area; to establish instruments for use in the preparation of interprovincial Red Seal examinations and curricula for training resulting in the accreditation of experienced employees; to help with the mobility of apprentices and experienced workers in Canada; and, to supply employers, workers, associations, industries, training institutions and federal governments with analyses of occupations. This analysis covers jobs carried out by carpenters, specified as workers who construct, renovate and fix property, civil, institutional, industrial and industrial (ICI) structures made of wood, steel, concrete and other products.– Includes text from document.
