HOW TO SPEAK TO A PATIENT | HOW TO START AND END AN EXAM | ULTRASOUND

What’s up youtube family! If you’ve been here before, WELCOME BACK. You’re the bestest! If you are new here, hi hello welcome. I hope you find something in today’s video that’ll make you want to come back! My name is Geselle and I post things about life.. ultrasound.. Vegas.. Disney. I love to help others and aim to spread ultrasound awareness and just overall good vibes!

Today’s video I go over how to approach a patient in a clinical setting. This is what I do when I grab a patient from the emergency room at my hospital, or from the waiting room from my outpatient place, or when I walk into a patient’s room when they’re already in the building! A majority of the time (well pretty much all the time) you have access to prior history and exams/ reports from the patient if they have been to your facility before. You already checked out what they’re here for, what the exam is and the reason for it is, and now you’re going to go get them and perform your job duty which is to be the best ultrasound tech EVER. Remember to make sure you have the correct patient and are doing the correct exam. Be kind to the patient, smile, and acknowledge them. Introduce yourself, explain what’s going on… get some more history and feedback from them.. perform the exam and then leave them with an everlasting impression! These people will remember the way you treated them! So I hope this video gives you insight on how to approach your patients. Stay tuned to the very end where I explain what I do when first getting a patient.

Today’s advice: You will get a lot of patients who are already mad or upset before they see you. Remember that everyone is going through something. You have to do your best to treat these patients like how you’d want your family member or yourself to be treated. Some patients are tough, believe me, but you will learn how to handle it! With time and practice, you too will be able to conquer approaching a patient!

If you happen to enjoy this video, I’d appreciate it if you LIKED it and SUBSCRIBE to the channel for more fun adventures! I would love to have you join the SonoGes family.
