The Ultrasound Technologist PRN, under general supervision of a Radiologist, carries out ultrasound procedures on ambulatory and healthcare facility clients as requested by a doctor or other licensed provider for the medical diagnosis of disease and injury in accordance with recognized procedures.
VITAL FUNCTIONS OF THE FUNCTION
Performs high quality ultrasound treatments, according to examination procedure, in a timely manner. Maintains production and quality of imaging procedures by following established requirements and treatments.
Makes use of AIDET when communicating with clients to: identify client service requirements, guarantee correct exam is carried out on the proper patient, and establish rapport with clients and others. Instructs and interacts with patients and their household relating to the test to be performed and examines client’s ability to endure test.
Prepares client and location for procedure by placing client, changing immobilization devices, moving equipment into specified position and adjusting devices controls to set exposure elements.

Maintains medical imaging records in appropriate system and according to department policies and requirements for analysis in a timely manner.

Basic Life Assistance (BLS): BLS is required.
ARRT-BS Breast Sonography (ARRT-BS), ARRT-S Sonography (ARRT-S), Musculoskeletal Sonography (MSK), Reg Diag Medication Sono-Abdomen (AB) (RDMS-AB), Reg Diag Medication Sono-Breast (BR) (RDMS-BR), Reg Diag Med Sono-OB/GYN (OB) (RDMS-OB), Registered Vascular Tech (RVT): Registered in one of the following: Qualified by the American Windows Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers ARDMS (OB/GYN) or (AB) or (BR) or (MSK) or (RVT) or the American Computer Registry of Radiologic Technologists ARRT (S) or (BS).
