This video information using bedside ultrasound imaging and a phased variety probe to examine heart structures and health, specifically when looking for left ventricular contractility, the existence of pericardial effusion, and evaluating the left heart chamber size and valves. It evaluates the four basic views of a heart echo evaluation– parasternal view (long axis), parasternal view (brief axis), subxiphoid view, apical view– as well as heart structures and optimum transducer positionings.
