Job Summary This position performs ultrasound procedures to be utilized by physicians in the medical diagnosis and treatment of patients. Job Description Area Outpatient Breast Imaging at Greater Heights Health Center Minimum Credentials Education: Graduate of a recognized school of Radiologic Technology or Sonography Innovation Licenses/Certifications: – Qualified in Basic or Advanced Life Assistance, required – One (1 )the following required: – Registered Sonographer by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-S); or – Registered Vascular Sonographer by the American Computer System Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-VS); or – Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) by the American Computer System Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers; or – Registered Diagnostic Heart Sonographer (RDCS) by the American Windows Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers; or – Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) by the American Computer Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers; or – Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) by Cardiovascular Credentialing International; or – Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) by Cardiovascular Credentialing International; or – Registered VascularSpecialist (RECREATIONAL VEHICLES) by Cardiovascular Credentialing International; or – Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS) by Cardiovascular Credentialing International – For centers performing regular vascular research studies, incumbent must be signed up for vascular ultrasound Experience/ Understanding/ Abilities: – Capability to lift and/or maneuver patients in combination with others in order to perform task functions – Demonstrates commitment to the Partners-in-Caring process by integrating our culture in all internal and external client interactions; provides on our brand name pledge of we advance health through innovation, responsibility, empowerment, collaboration, empathy and results while making sure one Memorial Hermann. Principal Responsibilities – Carries out ultrasound/ sonography procedures on clients: Prepares patients for the examination, explains treatment, positions patients for the examination, selects proper imaging strategies, and guarantees technical quality of the images. – Enters and monitors client information. – Performs quality assurance on the ultrasound equipment. May assist with preliminary and renewal application for ACR and other accreditation. – Recognizes and reports any mishaps, grievances or devices breakdown to department management. – Takes emergency call within the department. – Ensures safe care to patients, personnel and visitors; follows all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications consisting of time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service. – Promotes individual expert development and development by conference requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based objectives which contribute to the success of the organization – Other tasks as assigned.
