JOB SUMMARY
The Ultrasound Technologist PRN, under general supervision of a Radiologist, performs ultrasound treatments on ambulatory and health center patients as requested by a doctor or other licensed company for the diagnosis of disease and injury in accordance with established protocols.
NECESSARY FUNCTIONS OF THE FUNCTION
Carries out high quality ultrasound procedures, according to exam procedure, in a timely manner. Maintains production and quality of imaging procedures by following recognized standards and procedures.
Uses AIDET when communicating with clients to: recognize patient service requirements, ensure proper test is performed on the proper patient, and develop rapport with patients and others. Instructs and communicates with clients and their household relating to the test to be performed and examines patient’s capability to tolerate examination.
Prepares patient and area for treatment by placing patient, adjusting immobilization gadgets, moving devices into specified position and changing devices controls to set direct exposure factors.
Protects patients and employees by adhering to safety requirements, infection-control, drug and radiation policies, procedures and strategies. Uses correct sterilized methods when setting up and carrying out invasive multimodality procedures and preserves hand health requirements.
Maintains devices and work area to meet quality and tidiness requirements. Works with engineers and physicists to make sure optimal functional capabilities of devices. Reports concerns to management or proper department. Assists in preserving materials inventory.
Guarantees people are safe to enter the department by evaluating them according to approved policies and procedures.
Obtains, verifies and keeps all appropriate paperwork such as requisition/chart, client history, pregnancy status and protecting safety measures taken, consent kinds, policies and treatments, and so on
Preserves medical imaging records in proper system and according to department policies and requirements for analysis in a timely way.

Able to guarantee client complete satisfaction by restricting wait times, supplying polite service, remaining expert, reviewing client satisfaction ratings and establishing action strategies when needed.
Shows and preserves present knowledge, continued education and abilities suitable care for the following age (specific to department): newborn, pediatric, young person, adult and geriatric.
Able to function as preceptor by offering quality training to new staff member and on new services and initiatives.
Able to take call, if needed.

– EDUCATION – Grad of an Accredited Program
– MAJOR – Sonography
– MAJOR – Sonography
– EXPERIENCE – Less than 1 Year of Experience
– CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION –
Basic Life Support (BLS): BLS is required.
ARRT-BS Breast Sonography (ARRT-BS), ARRT-S Sonography (ARRT-S), Musculoskeletal Sonography (MSK), Reg Diag Medication Sono-Abdomen (AB) (RDMS-AB), Reg Diag Med Sono-Breast (BR) (RDMS-BR), Reg Diag Med Sono-OB/GYN (OB) (RDMS-OB), Registered Vascular Tech (RVT): Registered in among the following: Qualified by the American Computer Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers ARDMS (OB/GYN) or (AB) or (BR) or (MSK) or (RVT) or the American Computer System Registry of Radiologic Technologists ARRT (S) or (BS).
