Today’s video is the first video and very first Day In The Life of an Ultrasound Technologist series of 2021! You people absolutely like these videos so they’re going to keep coming! With each one, I want to give you more info so you men can discover and see what it’s like to be an ultrasound technologist on the job. It is an extremely needed, busy, satisfying, and difficult job. This field is predicted to grow in the coming years. I work at both a large and hectic medical facility and a huge outpatient business in Las Vegas.

I am a Per Diem technologist, indicating I work “as needed” and mainly to cover any full timers who take time off or go on holiday. I am young and ready to work and discover every single day!

My carotid protocol:
Trans: CCA prox, mid, distal w/o color
Trans: Bulb/Bif w/ and w/o color
Sag: CCA mid, b w, color, doppler
Sag: Vert, color, doppler
Sag: Bulb, b w, color
Droop: ECA mid, b w, color, doppler
Sag: ICA prox, mid, distal b w, color, doppler

My intussusception protocol:
Scan all 4 quadrants (RUQ, LUQ, RLQ, LLQ) in Droop/ Trans
If you see intussusception, pictures of Sag Trans, black and white, color

My OB minimal first trimester protocol:
Uterus (sweep through), cervix, ovaries (sag/trv/color/ doppler on ovaries 2 art/1 vein)
Fetal heart tones in M mode, Crown rump length, Yolk Sac, Gestational Sac, Early placenta if seen
Bilateral adnexal areas w/ and w/o color

My OB restricted 2nd/3rd trimester procedure:
Fetal heart tones in M mode
Cervical length, place of placenta related to cervix
Fetus position (breech, cephalic, transverse)
Measurements of: BPD/HC, Air Conditioning, FL, AFI
[this info gives us EDD and EFW]
Bilateral adnexal areas
Ovaries if seen, color/dropper 2 art/1 vein

Infant A is closest to the cervix and Infant B is even more away from the cervix.
